Contact Clipper

Does the Contact Clipper only work with Google Chrome?

Yes, at this time, the Base Contact Clipper is only available for Google Chrome. You can download Google Chrome here, for free.

Can the Contact Clipper clip to Leads rather than Contacts?

We’ve just released an update to the Contact Clipper (v1.5). It can now clip to Leads or Contacts. Please take a look at this support article to learn how to clip Linkedin and Facebook profiles as leads.

Can the Contact Clipper update existing contacts in Base?

Right now, the Contact Clipper will only allow you to clip new Contacts into Base. It’s not possible to update an existing Contact or Lead with the Contact Clipper.

Google Sync

Can I sync my Base tasks with Google Calendar?

Yes, Base syncs with Google Calendar so any time you add a Task in Base, it will show up on your Google Calendar. A ‘Base CRM’ calendar will be created in Google for you. For more information on setting this up, check out this support article.

Can I sync my Base contacts with Google so any contact I add to Base will also be added to Google Contacts?

Yes, you can sync your Contacts with Google so any time a Contact is added to Base, it will also be added to Google. Click here for more information on setting this up.

Importing Leads and Contacts

Is it possible to undo an import?

Yes, if you make a mistake and want to undo your import, just open up Settings > Import. At the bottom of the page you will see the option to undo your previous import. For more detailed instructions on reverting an import, please take a look at this support article.

What is the maximum number of leads/contacts that can be imported at once?

It’s recommended that you upload Leads or Contacts in batches of 5,000 or less for best performance.

Can you set “Lead Owner” as a column of an import file?

Currently its not possible to set lead owner as a column of an import file. However, you can assign a column to import as tags. You can create a column called “Lead Owner,” import it as a tag, and then after the import, filter the Leads list by the specific “Lead Owner Tag” and bulk reassign the leads to the correct owner. There’s an extra step in there, but it will help you sort through large amounts of Leads and quickly assign them.

Email

Is there a way to remove “Sent from Base CRM” from emails sent from Base?

Yes – if you’re using the free version of Base, emails sent from the web application will include Base branding. If you’re using a paid account, this signature will automatically be removed. To sign up for a paid Base account that does not include base branding, visit our pricing page.

Does Base support more than one sender email address?

Base is only able to sync one email address per account. If this is something you’d like to see added in the future, please support this idea on our idea board to help it become a feature.

Contacts

Is there a way of being reminded of contacts you haven’t connected with in a while?

Yes, there’s a sorting option called “Last activity date.” This will list the Contacts/Leads/Deals so that the most recently contacted records are listed first and the oldest are towards the bottom. For additional details on this experience, please take a look at this support article.

Voice

For outgoing calls from Base, which number is it made through?

If you’re on the Enterprise plan, each user is able to select a phone number that they will use to make and receive calls. If you’re on any of the other plans, we provide you with $1 in Voice credit to give the experience a try. This will be good for roughly 45 min of talk time in the United States and the call will be placed using a random phone number.
