GDPR Update– Base Is Ready

Editors Note May 22, 2018: This post has been updated to include additional resources for GDPR and to share a revised Privacy Policy.

Back in March, we shared that we were committed to becoming fully GDPR compliant by the May 2018 deadline.

We are happy to report that we are ready for GDPR and will be fully compliant by May 25th, 2018.

We’ve worked with independent experts in data security and privacy laws to analyze our processes, evaluate vendors and educate our company on the importance of data privacy.

Prior to May 25th, Base will be introducing a new privacy policy which provides more transparency surrounding our client’s personal data. Additionally, we have added clear guidelines for the right to access, correct or delete personal information.

What is GDPR?

GDPR is a law that exists to protect individual from abusive and intrusive practices, both in the information targeted to them, and the information solicited and collected from them.
It assures Individuals have the right to enjoy and participate in online activities, purchases, etc. with the knowledge that the collection of their personal information is limited to only that required for the completion of the transaction, or establishment of relationship. It also assures that the information surrendered is properly protected. The GDPR protects individuals from excesses, annoyances and abuses of privacy, and affords these protections towards any EU resident.

GDPR improves business practices, assures that Employees and Customers are informed and given choices in the information collected and kept about them, and makes the conforming businesses, a better businesses.

FAQ and Data Protection Agreement

In addition to the revised Privacy Policy, we’ve released a FAQ on Base and the GDPR which addresses common questions regarding GDPR preparation. The FAQ includes a Data Protection Agreement which can be completed and countersigned by Base. Complete details can be found here.
